Porth beach is less than 80 metres from the The Cove and is brilliant for families, swimmers and anyone who likes to feel the sand between their toes. The sandy beach with rocky outcrops is perfect for beach games, building sand castles and rock pooling. There is a laid back timeless charm to Porth making it just right for a very chilled out stay with us at The Cove. A short stroll will take you to Porth Island, a major centre of prehistoric civilisation and the site of spectacular blowholes.
Newquay Airport
(3.8mi, 6.1km)

Turn left as you exit the airport then turn left again after The Traveller's Rest pub; follow the road to Watergate Bay. At Watergate Bay follow the coast road heading left towards Newquay. You will then travel down the hill to Porth Beach and The Mermaid pub. As you start to climb the hill out of Porth The Cove Guesthouse is on the left hand side on the first bend.
Quintrell downs
(2.0mi, 3.2km)

Take the main A30 to Cornwall and follow signs for Newquay/A392.
On reaching Quintrell Downs take the third exit onto the A3058 (over level crossing) heading to Newquay. Continue along this road until you reach a double mini roundabout, turn right at the first mini roundabout onto Porth Way B3276 (sign posted Watergate and Porth).
Continue down the hill for approximately 800 meters; The Cove Guesthouse is on the right hand side as you approach a sharp left hand bend.

Fabulous place. The view from our room was stunning. The whole place is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The breakfast is freshly cooked with the best locally sourced ingredients and you get delicious home made cakes in your room every day. The owners are friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Local information is supplied in the rooms with their mobile numbers in case you need them. I would recommend The Cove to everyone and will be back for another visit.
